US President Donald Trump removed Doug Emehouf, the husband of his former rival Kamala Harris, from the Holocaust Council, where he drew an angry reaction.
Emhoff, married to the 2024 democratic presidential candidate and former US Vice President, made a campaign against anti -Semitism as part of the Joe Biden administration, which he appointed at the Board of Directors.
“Let me be clear: the memory of the Holocaust and education should never be politicized,” as Emihouf, a Jew, published on Tuesday, confirming his dismissal.
“The conversion of one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous – and it leads to the anniversary of 6 million Jews killed by the Nazi who were created to preserve it.”
Since he took office, Trump looked beyond politics to impose his commercial mark from the right -wing populism on cultural and educational institutions such as the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington and Harvard University.
He also sought to settle grades with imagined opponents – to target law firms related to his political enemies, such as Emhoff, Willkie Farr and Gallagher.
