Summary “Boy from the Sea”

Ireland 1973, a baby was found on the beach of a coherent hunting village. The fisherman, Ambrose Bonnar, displays the child to his family: his son, Diklan, his wife, Christine, and the highest lane, Christine’s sister and old age. The town’s residents are still fascinated by the child, who is now called Brendan, and is growing into a strange but attractive young man.

The “boy from the sea” tells the story of a family and a community, all of which were thrown into the arrival of Brendan. Family wealth rises and decreases over the years – as the city does, because nothing happens to one family here that does not happen to them all – such as the fierce global economy forces and the expression of modern commercial fish hunting in their way of life. In the village, Brendan and Diklan vary greatly and are often at odds; Outside the sea, Ambrose worries his children, but he cannot tear his attention from the brutal work that keeps his family standing on his feet. While the world around them continues to change, the mystery of the origin of one of the boy is withdrawn to an amazing and stormy fate.
