The Ghana Teachers Union has decided to challenge the reopening of schools by the government if it is implemented.
They said that if the deadline for the closure of all public and private schools of May 31, 2020 is not extended and instead the Akufo regime decides to reopen the schools they will not accept it.
Considering the huge increase in the pandemic and schools being the place where students and teachers come into contact with each other most of the time, they will not expose students and their staff to such risk.
Ghana’s cases are currently approaching 6,000. The deadly virus has become dangerous in the country and such decisions will be irrational.
