He mentioned; From now on, Facebook will be known as “Meta”, while Facebook will remain available as a social media product alongside WhatsApp and Instagram.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of social media giant Facebook, added: Facebook Branding is too limited to represent what the company wants to achieve in the future.
It will represent the company’s new name and rebranding Facebook Applications and its work on augmented and virtual reality products as well.
Zuckerberg said the new name aims to “reflect who we are and what we hope to build.” “Over time, I hope we will be seen as a metaverse company.”
“From now on, we will be Metaverse first, not Facebook first,” Zuckerberg said. “I hope people recognize the Meta brand and the future we stand for.”
