A 14-year-old boy crashes into oncoming traffic on the highway to rescue a cat that was thrown out of the car by the cruel previous owner.

Erin Brown was driving down the highway, taking her son Gavin to a birthday party, when something she never believed could happen happened.

She saw the window of a moving car in front of them open, and a cat was thrown out.

I shouted and stopped the car immediately. Once it stopped, Gavin got out of the car and signaled oncoming traffic to stop so he could get to the cat and rescue it.

“In shock as I watched the cat hit the curb and speed all over the highway, he ran to the bridge right next to me and jumped over the overpass about to jump down,” Brown shares with Love Meow.

Gavin rushed to the bridge and picked up the shocked cat.

“I’m not sure what I’m more shocked about, the cat being thrown out the window of a moving vehicle on 196 or my son flying out of my car onto the freeway and diving into an overpass to rescue a cat.

The traumatized cat was gasping for air. His nails were torn as he tried to maintain his grip on the pavement.

“He cuddled into Gavin’s arms and Gavin held him tight and kept petting him to show him we wouldn’t hurt him and gain the cat’s trust.”

They took Lucky to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital, and the staff took care of him and gave him pain medication. “Gavin wasn’t giving up on his new baby. The bond was instant, and he was an intense emotional mess for this cat.

Several days later, a stranger heard about their story on Facebook and offered to pay most of their medical expenses. Gavin was amazed by this kind gesture, and tears began to fall. “Then he said, ‘I’ll also pay the $63 I have to pay for my new cat to get close to the total.’” “My heart swelled with gratitude,” Brown said.

Lucky is doing well in his new home.

The two friends became very close. “Lucky is very aware that Gavin saved him, and their bond is beyond words,” Brown said. “Lucky is the sweetest cat I have met so far! He is so mellow and playful and an absolute darling!

The hero boy really cares about animals and always wanted to become a veterinarian. We are convinced that he will be the best vet in the world.
