On Tuesday, the White House criticized Amazon due to the reports, which will soon tell consumers about the extent to which US President Donald Trump’s tariff contributed to its goods.
“This is a hostile and political work by Amazon,” journalist Caroline Levitt told reporters at a press conference in Washington.
“Why didn’t Amazon do this when the Biden administration raised inflation to the highest level in 40 years?” She added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Punchebowl News stated that the e -commerce site will soon appear “the amount of Trump’s tariff adds to the price of each product,” quoting a person familiar with the matter.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
After taking office in January, Trump slapped a 10 percent basic tariff for most countries, as well as the crane over dozens of countries – only to stop the 90 -day high rates to allow commercial conversations.
