What happened to the patient?
The Health Protection Center revealed on Tuesday a condition of a 47 -year -old man who underwent amputation from the lower left leg after two days of developing a set of streptococcus infection, after treating acupuncture he received at two traditional Chinese medicine clinics.
The man suffered a fever and left pain on April 11, then asked for care from a private hospital, where he was diagnosed with septic shock and necrosis fabrication, known as “meat eating infection.”
The man, who was suffering from basic diseases, was transferred to Queen Mary Hospital in Bok Fu Lam the next day and underwent the bottom of the lower left limbs on April 13. His clinical samples were positive for the streptococcal a group.
According to the center, the man received acupuncture treatments on 7, 9 and 10 April from traditional Chinese medicine practitioners registered in Xiong One and the Gulf of Jozway.
