Max Verstapen has been warned of a potential transfer of 2026 to Mercedes by the 2009 world champion F1 Jenson Button. The latter wondered whether the car will be developed around Verstapen, just as it used to Red Bull.

They designed this car around him, and it is very good in it. No one can match it in that car. They are far from it. I mean, and it is qualified third or fourth, and qualify them in the eighteenth.”
Also added:
“If he goes to Mercedes, this is something completely different. As you know, the car will not be designed around it. So, will you work for it? I don’t know.”
Max Verstapen has made his trade with the Red Bull F1 team since 2016. Four world championships have so far gathered with outfit and is easily one of the best drivers on the modern network. While he is constantly associated with Mercedes, his current deal will end in 2028.
Jenson Button replaces George Russell with Max Verstapen “strange step”
Max Verstapen, being the best driver, was always on the Formula 1 radar. Amid Red Ball 2025 struggles, he was tied with Mercedes, and Jennson Patton felt was “difficult” on George Russell.
