The Labor Party must prepare families not anymore the possibility of “huge shocks” in their water bills after a comprehensive reform of the sector, and this has been reported.
It is expected that the Minister of Environment Steve Reed will undertake to reform the “root and branch” for the water industry on Monday, saying that “the organization has failed customers and the environment.”
It will promise that “the diligent British families will once again face a great shock out on their bills as we have seen last year,” according to a report in the Times.
Water bills increased by 26 % in April, with the cost of repairing the long infrastructure that is said to be an important worker.

It is understood that the promised reforms of Mr. Reed, as well as larger investments in the deteriorating sewage network, are expected to make an unnecessary significant increase.

Monday reforms have also been reported on Monday, including the cancellation of an OffAT water regulator.
The besieged organizer has faced widespread criticism in recent years for its failure to reduce the drainage of wastewater in rivers, while increasingly biting water companies that suffer from debt to continue paying large profits to their shareholders.
On Friday, Downing Street did not deny that he was preparing to cancel Offat, and a government spokesman said that the government would wait for a report from Sir John Conif, who was taking a major review of the industry.
In his temporary report, Sir John criticized the division of water regulation between the economic organizer, the Environment and the Drinking Water Agency.
The former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England is scheduled to publish its final report on Monday, which is likely to recommend the replacement of Offat with one organizer for the entire water industry.
On Friday, a report issued by the Environment Agency found serious pollution incidents due to water companies throughout England by 60 % in 2024.
The Surveillance Committee for the Weak Performance is constantly revealed by all nine water and sanitation companies in the country, despite its expectations for pollution accidents.
Every year, the number of pollution times, including inappropriate wastewater, records the waterways of the infrastructure of the water company such as pumping stations, tubes and treatment.
The figures, issued on Friday, showed that companies recorded a total of 2801 accidents, an increase of 29 % over 2,174 registered in 2023.
But the number of the so -called first category and the second category, and the most dangerous, increased by 60 % from 47 to 75.
Three water companies were responsible for 81 % of these serious incidents – the Times water with 33, southern waters with 15, and Yorkshire’s water with 13.
Meanwhile, not only two companies, Northbrian Water and Wesex Water, had no serious incidents last year, and to meet the expectations of the Environment Agency to see a direction to any serious pollution incidents by 2025.
Mr. Reed called the “shameful” numbers and a “flagrant reminder” on how to invest in investment and weak regulations to the water wastewater corridors in England.
