Madrid – Novak Djokovic, winner number 24 titles in the Grand Slam, says he can feel the changes in tennis.
He says that people began to accept that there is no longer Roger Federer, and no more Rafael Nadal – soon – is no longer Djokovic.

“You can feel a shift.”
“Not only about the generations of players (who now have) the main focus and attention. But I think it takes some time until people require the fact that Roger and Rava are not playing, (Andy) Murray, and I one day think of myself.”
Djokovic said he was doing his best to “represent the older men, the older generation”, and attends “a positive impact on the championships and the round itself.”

“This is also one of the reasons why I continue to play,” he said. “Because I feel that this also helps in tennis still flourish on the next attention and crowd, watching championships and attention.”
Note Djokovic numbers “break the record” in the attendance at Grand Slams and some ATP 1000 tournaments such as Indian Wells.

“It is good news that it should not depend on the big stars or the legends of the game that retired,” he said. “Sports should excel, and sport will exceed everyone, and sport is more important than anyone individually. So we are all here in the service of sports as well.
“This is something that you should take into account, that when you play and all the things you do outside the stadium as a better player, you are trying to contribute to the popularity of tennis, bring more people, bring young children and people to tennis, attention and enthusiasm from tennis.
Djokovic indicated that he was older than some of the current youth – such as Spanish star Carlos Carraz, 21, when he began controlling a tour.
“Betn, let’s say, 23 and 33 is when it was already happening. Now Carlos 23,” Djokovic said. “We have to remember that his age and what he did for his age is not normal either. I am sure that we will see a lot of it on the big stage with the prizes in the future, whatever, 10 years old, 15 years old, as long as he is playing.”
Alcaraz withdrew from his home championship due to muscle injuries. It was in the same half of clouds as Djokovic.
Djokovic, three times in Madrid, has not played in the Spanish capital since he lost to Alcaraz in the 2022 semi -finals. It is scheduled to play the role of Italy Matteo Arnalde on Saturday.
Djokovic seeks to get his first title for this season after losing his opening matches in Monte Carlo and Wales Indian. He reached the final in Miami, lost in successive groups of Jacob Minky.
Djokovic won his 99th title last August at the Paris Olympics. He has lost four finals since then. The two players are the two players who reached the 100 -episode mark: Jimmy Connors (109) and Federer (103).
