The sources say that some employees of the Ministry of Education put on leave on the alleged diversity training program.

Dozens of Ministry of Education employees received messages when they closed working hours on Friday and put them on an administrative leave, according to a copy of one message obtained by ABC News.

Although no specific reason was given, some employees told ABC news that they believed that the only common thread among them was that they attended a voluntary training called the “Diversity Change Agency Training Program”.

The message states that the administrative leave notification is not for disciplinary purposes. Instead, it is issued under President Donald Trump’s executive order on diversity, fairness and integration (Dei) and “other guidelines” from the US Personnel Management Office, according to the message.

According to the message, employees will get full wages and benefits during the end of the administrative leave. They are not required to carry out tasks for work during this time, nor are they required to come to the office. The employees who were placed on the government email were also suspended when receiving messages. There is no specific time for the leave period, according to the message.

The messages caused madness throughout the department, where some employees were closed from their accounts and were forced to verify their own email addresses of the notice, according to Sheria Smith, President of the American Federation of Government Persons (AFGE) 252.

Smith told ABC News that more than 50 employees in “very diverse roles” within the administration received email notifications for their governmental email addresses or their email accounts after regular working hours during the weekend.

ABC News spoke with three employees from the Ministry of Education who received the messages and described their vacation as a “paid administrative hell” since Friday evening.

“It is very disturbing,” one of the department’s employees said for more than 20 years, working in Washington, DC, told ABC News. “I don’t get it. What is my crime? What did you do?”

Administrative vacation notifications may be linked to a two -day “training program for a variety”, which is a training led by the facilitator, according to the training document segments obtained by ABC News.
