Trump insists that Abigo Garcia has a “MS-13” tattoo despite the evidence for change

Posted on May 1, 2025

During an interview with Terry Moran from ABC News on Tuesday, President Trump insisted that the man who was accidentally deported to El Salvador had a gang of tattoo on his hand.

Mr. Trump said: “On his joints, he had MS-13.”

The tape stops. Return it to about a week, when Mr. Trump in a social post presented a photo of the man, Kilmar Abrago Garcia, who has four tattoos, one of them on each finger. There was a sheet, a smiling face, a cross and a scratch. Above these symbols, the “MS13” digital term “MS13” was imposed on the image, as it works mainly as a comment, deciphering tattoo. (Some gang experts I wondered if it was They are really MS-13 codes.)

In the interview with Mr. Moran, the president seemed to believe that the characters that were written on the image he held in his position on social media were actually a tattoo. Mr. Moran tried with cautiously correcting the record about it, but Mr. Trump did not have any of them.

“Wait a minute,” he said. “Hey, Terry. Terry. Terry.”

Mr. Moran again tried: “He didn’t have the message -“

“Don’t do that,” Mr. Trump has reduced. “MS-1-3. says MS-1-3.”

When Mr. Moran said that these characters were photographed on the photo, Mr. Trump seemed positively rebellious. The stock exchange went around, as the president continued to claim, with an increase in mystery, that these numbers and messages that the world wanted to see in reality is ink in the ink on the joints of this man.

He could not bring himself to admit that Mr. Alago Garcia did not have the phrase “MS-13” tattooed on his hand.

“Why don’t you say,” Yes, he is doing, “Mr. Trump finally said to Mr. Moran,” as you know, go to something else. “

When asked about the exchange on Wednesday, Kush Disai, a White House spokesman, confirmed that the tattoo of Mr. Abro Garcia was the violent gang badge. However, Mr. Disai refused to answer questions about the reason why Mr. Trump did not accept that Mr. Alago Garcia was not in fact clarified “MS-13” tattooed on his hand, and that the image posed by Mr. Trump had been changed to the position of social media.

The sub -text of the posterior joint text is: The Trump administration has faced the increasing audit of the courts because of its dealings with Mr. Abyerigo Garcia, and she chose to respond to this scrutiny by launching a public opinion war.

Instead of launching detailed information about the steps that you must take to comply with an order from the Supreme Court to “facilitate” the launch of this man, the administration instead makes statements and pictures approaching from its point of view that Mr. Abrago Garcia is a criminal. This was what Mr. Trump’s original publication was about tattoos in the first place.

All of this is part of the PR management. White House grass
This week is decorated with grass signs that illustrate the names, faces and alleged crimes of migrants who have been deported.

As for Mr. Alago Garcia and his tattoo? It is not exactly the clear picture preferred by Mr. Trump.

The president’s advisers have repeatedly argued that two trials “ruled” that Mr. Abjo Garcia is a member of the MS-13. In fact, he was not charged or convicted of being a member of the gang. But during his deportation procedures, evidence was provided that he belonged to MS-13, and the judges decided that it is sufficient to keep him in the reservation during the operation.

In fact, the immigration judge spent in 2019 that Mr. Alago Garcia could not be deported to El Salvador because he might face persecution or violence from a gang there. The judge allowed him to stay in the United States, and obtained a work permit. A federal judge also found that Mr. Alago Garcia is a member of the gang.

Judge Paula Xinis wrote in the matter of this month: “The” evidence “against Parzia is not consisting of anything more than a hat for him in Chicago Bulls, and an unconfirmed mysterious claim from one of the secret informants claims that he belongs to the” West “Camira of MS-13 in New York-a place where he was unprecedented.”

The Trump administration has increasingly focused on tattoos when identifying Venezuelan immigrants as gang members who can be deported to prison in El Salvador. Immigration officials were martyred with signs such as crowns and watches as evidence of membership in Treen de Aragua, the crossbreaking gang with roots in Venezuela. In an attempt to determine the gangs’ affiliation with immigrants, the Ministry of Internal Security has established a performance card and the men’s points are set for different aspects of tattoos. The presence of the tattoo associated with the gang was four points. An eight -point death toll is considered evidence of gang membership.

But law enforcement experts have asked whether the tattoo in general provides reliable evidence of gang members. None of them was compatible with the message that Mr. Trump was paying, both on his social media and his interview in ABC News on Tuesday night.
